Jamaica Track And Field Olympian,  Lennox Miller passed away on Monday (Nov. 8) of cancer in Pasadena at the age of 58.
 
The 1968 Olympic 100-meter silver medalist and 1972 bronze medalist. Lennox Miller amember of the 1964 Kingston College High team and the first Jamaican High School to run at the Penn Relays, won the Championship of America 4x110y, on their maiden entry. Lennox was also member of the USC team, that establish the world record for 440-yard. (for more)
 
 
Jamaica to erect a statue of six time Olympian Merlene Ottey. This  statue will be the second for a Jamaican Olympian, and the first for a female athlete. The first statue is located at the National Stadium in Kingston.
Merlene Ottey has the world indoor record 21.87 for 200 meters since 1993, and as won the most Jamaican yearly Sports Woman award, she is one of Jamaica's leading sprinters from 100 to 400 meters. for more>>>>
  Jamaica's Order of Merit was conferred on Herb McKenley. Herb is the only athlete to run in an Olympic 100, 200 & 400 meters final, and the first athlete to run a sub 45sec (44.60)on a 4x400 relay. Herb has many other first as a Jamaican, setting the a new world record for 400 meters, making the Penn Relays Wall of Fame, and he was the key on third leg in defeating the USA in the 1952 Olympics and in the process giving the Jamaican team(A. Asafa Powell puts the numbers on the board, he has equal Maurice Greene's nine (9) sub 10 sec for 100 meters in one year, and came within a whiskers of  running a sub 20sec (20.06) for 200 meters. Asafa owns 75 percent of of sub 10sec by a Jamaican sprinter, Raymond  Stewart has two(2) and Percival Spencer one(1).  These performances should place Asafa up there for the Jamaican Sports Man award, (For More) The Jamaica International Track & Field Invitational May 7, 2005, in it's second edition, features Asafa Powell - Jam vs Kim Collins-St Kitts vs Darrel Brown T&T at the National Stadium in Kingston.

Relay teams from various countries will be there to attain qualifying times, in addition there will be High Schools relay teams just back from Penn Relays triumphantly to do battle again.

Danny McFarlane the 2004 Olympic 400H Silver medalist, became only the second man to make an Olympic final for both the 400M(Sydney 2000) and 400h(Athens) in 68 years.

When a Bronze medal becomes a Gold medal, this transformation could become a reality for Tayna Lawrence. Marion Jones the 2000 Olympic gold medalist may be strip of the Gold medal, and the second placer Ekaterina Thanou is under a dark cloud for faking injury prior to the 2004 Olympics, to evade testing for drugs. An interesting point here, is that domino will place Merlene Ottey in the Silver medal position.

Veronica Campbell - Will be at the NY/Reebok Meet
 
Veronica Campbell The 2005 Olympic 200 meters, 4x100 meters Gold  and 100m Bronze medalist  will be at the NY Reebok meet.. This will be Veronica's  first Big Apple appearance. VC will certainly bring out the Jamaican and Caribbean Massives to the new Ichan Stadium on Randalls Island. Lets rally around the Black, Green and Gold.  VC is currently rank number one for the 200m
